Not much is known about the feathered queen, as most who enter her domain to gather information become entranced by the beauty of her palace and become cursed, sentenced to live out the rest of their lives as a duck. Her palace has a very cozy and calming atmosphere, giving off a feeling as though one is wrapped in a blanket by a loving caregiver. From those who have managed to escape the interior, they report hearing a low calming, yet eerily haunting, melody throughout the castle, seemingly emanating from nowhere. Normally docile, the feathered queen will become malicious and enranged if she or her subjects are slighted in any way, and an apology is not immediatly issued. Of the few people who have studied the feathered queen, a single journal remains, although damaged.
The first page reads:
"I have finally entered the queens castle. Although the air is comforting, I feel a sense of unease, as though something here is not quite right. And the queen is quite peculiar as well. Although most royalty her age would be considered a princess in our realms, from what I have learned she has been in power for an untold amount of years, seemingly timeless in her form. I have also learned, as is custom here, she is searching for an acceptable suitor to rule by her side, although not as common, instead of searching for a man as most royalty in our homeland would, she is searching for another woman to rule by her side, which seems to be normal for this place. I have also learned that among her subjects she is known by another name. She is known as "The Frozen Flame". I have yet to understand what this name means, but i hope it shall be revaled in due time."
This is all that has been found of this survivors journal, although more pieces may be found throughout time and space.
A new journal fragment has been found. It reads:
"I have seen what seems to be a sentient thundercloud moving throughout the palace. Although what it is and what its purpose are unknown when I found it I was acknowlegded by a soft welcoming rumble. I believe the queen is somehow connected to this being."
A later entry reads:
"Today the music in the palace faded momentarily. I was with the queen when this happened, and there was a flash of pure terror on her face when it first happened, the kind of look one has when something of untold danger happens. Immediately after this the queen sent some soldiers to a place that she called the "Astral-Planar Observatory, and pulled out a small candle with a bright blue flame, and seemed to converse with it. She would not answer any questions about the candle. I believe the candle may have a connection to the campfire.
A page seems to have been found from the end of the journal. It reads:
"The queen seems to be preparing to leave the castle for some reason. She has been conversing with both the candle and the lightning spirit, seemingly instructing the spirit and planning with the candle. I was not able to get very close but I heard a single snippit from the queen. "A great Evil is coming, i must prepare." It seems she is leaving the lightning spirit in charge while she is away. She has also been seen writing a small note to herself that simply reads "When the time is right, speak your true name and all will be revealed." When questioned about this the queen reveals that leaving the castle without seperating her body and soul will cause her to forget everything but her name, and speaking her true name shall cause her to be returned to the castle via an Astral Link. I fear what it is that she must prepare for."
There may yet be more scraps of the journal to be found, and perhaps some of the queens own journals to be discorvered.
A single new page has been found. It seems to be describing the queens combat style. It reads:
"I saw the queen it combat today. It was both beautiful and terrifying. Her weapon of choice seems to be an icy polearm that can change shape to a certain degree, and her fighting style almost looks like a dance, with her and her blade moving in sweeping circular motions, with quick but powerful strikes, leaving very few openings to retaliate. Her weapon also seems to be incredibly sharp, able to draw blood with the lightest touch, made increasingly dangerous by the fact that the only safe part to touch is the hilt, as the weapon can turn into a sort of sword-whip. The queen also seems to be an adept archer, carrying two small hand crossbows along side her weapon, being deadly accurate and quick to reload with them."
