Oh, hello campers. Sorry to interrupt. I found your campgrounds and saw you had some seeds sitting around. I figured you might want to learn a thing or two about botany. Let's start with those... what have you been calling 'em? "Mundane Seeds?" Yeah, those are Astral Daisy seeds. You've got a lot to learn, I reckon.

A new friend has made her way to camp! Meet, Beeatrice, our resident Botany expert. The soil of the campgrounds is rich in all sorts of minerals and whatnots. It's time to grow some flowers.
And so we are introducing our first Camper Skill: Botany. Botany is a system to let you tend to flowers, grow them over time and harvest them for Vibe Conduits, seeds and additional rewards. Botany is managed via Campfire using the /botany
commands.
It all starts with Silkwater. I'm still not entirely certain where it originates, but the stuff sure does make plants grow.
~ Beeatrice
Silkwater is a new resource introduced in this update. Each Camper has been brought a generous gift of 100 Silkwater from Beeatrice. You will need ample Silkwater in order to grow your plants all the way to maturity.
Each plant consumes Silkwater at a different rate. Choose your plants wisely based on their growth time and Silkwater consumption rate. You can water your plants at any time so long as you have the Silkwater to spare. And in a pinch, you can ask another Camper to help you out! Any Camper can help by using some of their Silkwater to water your plants.
If your plant's hydration level drops to 0, it will wither and die. So keep it watered!
I mean if ya ask me, the best part is watching the little plants grow large. But harvesting is rewarding in its own way.
~ Beeatrice
Harvesting a flowering plant will drop Vibe Conduits and a handful of items in addition to the flower of the plant itself. Most plants will always drop another seed as well. Flowers of the Realm have a variety of uses, especially in potionmaking. But alas, we have yet to find someone who knows how to brew potions. Perhaps Beeatrice knows someone?
It's important to keep an eye to the sky. Sometimes the weather is on your side. Sometimes not. It's just how it goes sometimes.
~ Beeatrice
Weather has received an overhaul in the Realm. You can now see the next 12 hours of forecasted weather using the /world forecast
command. Additionally, there are two new weather events to look out for!
Silkwater Rain 🌱 - When Silkwater Rain occurs, all currently planted flowers receive an additional 20 Silkwater added to their hydration level!
Acid Storms 🚨 - When Acid Storms occur, all currently planted flowers lose 10% of their current hydration level.
Silkwater Rain and Acid Storms are marked with emojis in the forecast to make them easy to spot in the upcoming forecast. But of course, this is the Astral Realm, so if we work together, we can overcome the threat of the Acid Storms.
Some plants may be affected by warmer or colder weather as well, though Beeatrice suggested we wait until the Campers are ready for those plants.
I don't know much about technology and such. I just like to tend to my garden. But y'know, this thing—despite how often it'll shock ya—it's pretty good.
~ Beeatrice
The Crackling Rainmeter item is available from the Camp Store, and when used, it will clear out Acid Storms from the next 12 hours of forecasted weather! If you have the conduits to spare, your fellow Campers will thank you for the assist!
Campfire will no longer interrupt conversations to alert you of goings-ons. Instead, the new #campfire-logs channel will contain automated updates from Campfire. So if you find a random item or want to know what's been happening around the realm, check out the Campfire Logs channel.
Several new hidden Merit Badges have been added around the Botany skill. See how many you can find! Additionally, Campfire will now post in #campfire-logs when a Camper unlocks a Merit Badge.
There's a nip in the air, and sometimes, even the stars get a little cold. When that happens, they may fall from the sky. Keep a look out and you might find one. They usually bring good fortune.
The Camp Store now sells Silkwater Jugs to replenish your Silkwater, as well as a handful of seeds. Prices for most items have also been adjusted to better fit the changes in the Vibe economy.
Non-usable items will no longer show up in the /inventory use
command and have their "Use" buttons disabled in the inventory manager in the Lodge. Additionally, item descriptions have been updated to give more information.
We have made a Camper's Handbook section in the Wiki to hold information about the Astral Campgrounds, including services, privacy information, how-to's and more. The handbook will continue to expand with helpful information to ensure you can make the most of your time at Camp.
This is the first of several Camper Skills we will be launching over the coming months. As some items may allude to, the next Skill we will be releasing will be Potionmaking, along with a yet-announced 3rd skill. This is just the beginning, and you can expect more interactivity, expanded items list, a leveling system and more.
Now, get to planting.
