Good for low effort baking, and also being really really fast for bread!

Ingredients:

4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups buttermilk

Method:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F

Sift the flower into a mixing bowl

Pour the rest of the ingredients in

Mix with your hands (don’t over knead the dough or compress it, just make sure it is mixed well and holds together in a round shape)

Coat a baking tray in flour and put the loaf in

Cut an X shape into the top of the loaf

Bake 45-55 minutes in the oven

Check on it early (I do starting at 30 minutes in) and

Make sure a knife comes out of the middle clean before taking it out and letting it cool off a bit to enjoy

:).

Bonus things: Since it is pretty dry, people like putting things in it that will add to it like raisins and stuff I’ve heard, so feel free to experiment with that if you wish to. I think it turns out good as is just to eat with butter though.
